Packaging
1 gram or 4 grams, in vials, that can be reconstituted with sterile water or bacteriostatic water for injection. Use 20 mL sterile water for 1-gram vial and 80 mL sterile water for 4-gram vial.
Dosage/Administration
Administer to horses at a dosage of 1-2 mg ceftiofur per pound of body weight (2-4 mL reconstituted solution per 100 pounds of body weight). A maximum of 10 mL may be administered per injection site. Treatment should be repeated at 24-hour intervals, continued for 48 hours after clinical signs have disappeared and should not exceed 10 days.

Precaution
As with all drugs, NAXCEL should not be used in animals found to be hypersensitive to the product. NAXCEL has a pre-slaughter withdrawal time of 4 days in cattle.
The safety of ceftiofur has not been determined for horses intended for breeding.
Not for use in horses intended for food.
Federal law restricts this drug to use by or on the order of a licensed veterinarian.
