Indications

NEO-PREDEF® (neomycin sulfate, isoflupredone acetate and tetracaine hydrochloride) with Tetracaine Topical Powder is indicated as a treatment or adjunctive therapy for certain ear and skin conditions. In addition, it is indicated as a superficial dressing, which can be applied to minor cuts, wounds, lacerations and abrasions, and for post-surgical application to reduce inflammation.

NEO-PREDEF may be used as a dusting powder following amputation of dewclaws, tails and claws; following ear trimming; and after castration or ovariohysterectomies. Applied superficially, it has been used successfully to treat acute otitis externa and acute moist dermatitis and interdigital dermatitis in dogs.

  • Also contains myristyl-gamma-picolinium chloride, which is highly germicidal, non-irritating and relatively non-toxic. In solution, it reduces surface tension and aids in penetration and wetting of tissues. Effective against a wide range of organisms, including Staphylococcus aureus, E. coli, E. typhosa and S.dysenteriae. It has been used preoperatively for disinfection of skin and also for application to superficial injuries, irrigating deep wounds and for application to infections and wounds of mucous membranes
Packaging

Available in 15-g plastic insufflator bottles. Store in a dry place. Replace cap when not in use. This puffer bottle has been designed to permit dusting in any position. Protect the outlet from moisture. The tip should not allowed to come in contact with moist membranes or weeping surfaces.

Dosage/Administration

After cleansing the affected area, apply product by compressing sides of container with short, sharp squeezes. In most cases a single daily application is sufficient; however, it may be applied 1-3 times daily as required.

Precautions

Avoid use of this product with ruptured tympanic membranes. If hearing or balance is affected during treatment, discontinue use.

Federal law restricts this drug to use by or on the order of a licensed veterinarian.
