Bronchicine™CAe
Bordetella Bronchiseptica Bacterin
Cellular Antigen Extract

Description

  • Bronchicine™CAe is prepared from antigenic material extracted from the Bordetella bronchiseptica organism. A highly immunogenic strain of B. bronchiseptica is grown to a high yield, then subjected to a unique process which extracts the antigens from the Bordetella cells. The residual cell debris is then removed, resulting in a product which retains the desirable immunologic qualities of the whole cell, while reducing toxic and other undesirable side effects with whole cell bacterins.

Suggested Vaccination Program

Puppies: Initial vaccination of puppies is recommended at 8 weeks of age.The effect of the presence of maternal antibodies to B. bronchiseptica upon the puppy’s ability to develop an active immune response has not been ascertained. However, puppies from immune bitches usually have low titers to B. bronchiseptica and this antibody usually disappears by the time the puppy is 4-6 weeks of age.

Adult Dogs: Dogs not previously vaccinated against B. bronchiseptica require two initial doses. Annual revaccination with a single 1 ml dose is recommended.
